Register a Camera

The goal of the Lacombe Police Service Register a Camera program is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the Lacombe Police Service and the communities we serve. Accordingly, all Security Camera registrants agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. The Lacombe Police Service may request access to video footage containing or related to criminal activity, that was collected by the home or business owner, for use in investigating criminal activity or for use as evidence during any stage of a criminal proceeding . When requested, the home or business owner may decide to disclose the requested video footage to the Lacombe Police Service.
  2. If necessary, the Lacombe Police Service will contact the home or business owner directly, using the information provided on this site, to request the appropriate video surveillance footage.
  3. Under no circumstances shall registrants construe that they are acting as an agent and/or employee of the City of Lacombe and/or the Lacombe Police Service through the Register a Camera program.
  4. Under no circumstances shall the Lacombe Police Service obtain any information or footage/feeds without the direct assistance from the registrants.

    FOIP Notification Statement

    The personal information that you provide to the Lacombe Police Service is collected under the authority of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act – Section 33(c). The information will be used for the purpose of registering participants in the Register a Camera program and administration of this program.

    Collected personal information is protected from unauthorized access, collection, use, and disclosure in accordance with the FOIP Act, and can be reviewed and corrected upon request.
