2025 marks a significant milestone in our community’s history — 125 years of dedicated service by the Lacombe Police Service. Since our establishment in 1900, we have grown from a small-town constabulary to a modern, professional police service committed to the safety and well-being of all who live, work, and visit Lacombe.

Over the past century and a quarter, our members have proudly served through times of change, growth, and challenge — always guided by strong values, community connection, and a deep sense of duty. From patrolling dirt roads on horseback to today’s integrated technologies and community-based policing strategies, our evolution reflects our commitment to progress while honoring our roots.

As we celebrate 125 years of policing in Lacombe, we extend our gratitude to the citizens we serve, the partnerships we’ve built, and the generations of officers whose dedication has shaped our legacy.

As part of our 125th anniversary celebrations, we’re inviting the community to join us for a Community Appreciation BBQ at the Lacombe Police Service Station on Friday, August 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Enjoy a burger, pop, and chips for just $5, with all proceeds going to support Lacombe Victim Services.

Come meet our members, enjoy lunch, and help us celebrate 125 years of service to our incredible community.
